In response to the Vanity Fair nude photo scandal surrounding its tween queen Miley Cyrus, Disney is working overtime to thrust Miley’s heir apparent, Selena Gomez (pictured), into the spotlight. Hollywood Records, Miley’s music label, is reportedly desperate to sign Selena to a record deal. The label is part of the Disney Music Group and releases many of the entertainment giant’s TV and movie soundtracks. Selena, 15, is the star of Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place tv show. “Hollywood Records really wants Selena,” an insider told E! “Nothing’s signed yet, but they’re going after her in a strong way.” Read more.
